THE BRIDGE OF DOUBT

Still the old fashioned I am, listening to Koji Tamaki on my discman(everything now is getting smaller and holds more songs than ever) in trying to extract an impression of an inspiration to write. I have just seen the final student project for the semester and I am glad that I have made the decision. Time to get off the comfort zone and venture into the ocean of uncertainties that can be utterly rewarding or utterly stupid... Depends on which way you want to look at it. The half full-half empty glass syndrome.

Past the bridge of doubt I have, I'm paving my own yellow brick road now. Where I am heading... Who cares? Time to throttle up my talents again. Thanking my wife, Jennifer along the way for she is the light that gave me the confidence to plunge into that leap of faith.

Am i the 1st to know? Was surprised by your decision, but all i could do is to respect the choice you made and wish you all the best! Sometimes, people prefer to reside in their own shelter, not daring to venture further away from their comfort zone. I was once like that, and i guess its quite difficult to shed the feeling of being lonely, insecure and also worry about what to expect in the future. But I'd like to congratulate you for picking up the much needed courage to give yourself a push to achieve something that you really want. It is quite a tough choice, I agree too. But if it makes you smile when you look back on your decision that you made 10 yrs down the road, it is worth the try.

Thanks for being such an inspiration to me. I might not have been the most vocal and noisy student in your class but i hope that you'd still remember me when you see me in the near future. If you need help (casts in your films, crew to help out in your movie premiere too if it is going to be a reality), I'm always here!

Guess I have also learned to view the world in a cynical way, and to look for a certain balance in life *Yin & Yang*

Take care and God Bless......

Gosh, I thought it was a joke since you were telling me what movies you may show at the end of this semester.

Well, I am sad that you are leaving but I am also glad that you are venturing into the unknown. After all, isn't that life? All about venturing into the unknown. Though I have only known you for one semester, but I have leart a lot more about films under you. Thank you for teaching and making me appreciate films even further.

Daniel Teh. :) May the force be with you. ;)

Mr Patrick... it took me awhile to understand what you were trying to say in your post... and after reading all the other comments, i had this sudden jolt telling me that you are actually leaving your profession? to be honest, im still in the grey area... i'm still not sure whether what you wrote was mere thoughts to ponder or just more than thoughts... Pls do let me know if you're leaving, tho i do not want you to leave... It was really fun having you as a lecturer, and your class every friday two sems ago was always the class among the other 8am classes that i looked forward to, coz we get to watch movies. ;p anyway, i hope you don't have to leave, tho it is selfish of me to say so because you have the right to choose and venture out and do what you like.Yep! Live life to the fullest! XD I wish you all the best, and God bless!
